Don’t Be Long is a feminist and anti-colonial exploration of Palestinian culture pre-1949, set within a modern Palestinian-American context. It is a coming of age story about a Palestinian American girl, Rima, who goes on vacation with her mother in Ojai. While taking a swim, she is transported to 1930s Palestine, where she meets her Great-Grandmother when she was Rima’s age. Rima learns about her ancestral roots and rediscovers her relationship with her mother.
